
1st Touches & Developmental
Do you have a young athlete interested in volleyball? Our 1st Touches or Developmental Team would be just the ticket! Registration for our FALL clinics opens on Sept. 1st 2025


Fall 2025 and Winter 2026 season details :
These programs are designed to introduce the proper volleyball technique for all new athletes while keeping a fun and focused environment. This will help set them up for success moving into our competitive travel teams as they get older.

Fall Session - Recreation Clinics -

Registration OPENS Sept. 1st at 8:00am

Season Dates: Sept 30 – Nov 21

Grades: 1st through 6th broken into 2 grade's per session

Format:
-
1 session/week per group — 1 hour practices for 1st/2nd grade and 1.5 hour practices for 3rd through 6th grades. Practice days are Thursdays, times will vary depending on your coach. Schedules will be issued to players as soon as gym space and coaches are confirmed.

Fridays: All groups come together for game play

10 min: warm ups

50 Minutes: gameplay of 2 games to 25 points

Staffing: Head Coach/Director Savanna Scott with parent volunteers to help run drills and games on Fridays.

No uniforms/shirts but NIVBC gear is available for purchase

No cap on amount of athletes participating, the more the merrier!

Goal: Keep casual, fun, and accessible for young athletes to explore volleyball

Previous season details:
Practice per week lasting 1 hour 15 minutes each at the LPO gym Fridays
Either 3:30-4:45 OR 4:45 to 6:00
Parents: you get to register for whichever clinic time works best for your athlete (availability depending)

Winter Session (TEAM focused season)

Dates: Jan 26 – Mar 21

Finale: Big round robin on Mar 21 (similar to past years, playing teams from surrounding towns)

Season Format:

1.5–2 hour sessions, likely 2x/week

Include 1–2 scrimmages in addition to the round robin at end of season

Staffing: Head Coach/Director Savanna Scott with additional NIVBC Assistant Coaches

Includes NIVBC tshirts

Lower number of athletes per team to keep a low coach-athlete ration for focused skill building

Goal: A more structured, skills-focused developmental program with higher-level games to help your athlete prepare for middle school teams and NIVBC u12 travel teams in the future
