2024 / 2025 TEAM TRYOUTS
ALL U12 to U18 athletes must be registered for tryouts through Sports Engine (registration will go live July 1st 2023) See the schedule and links for each separate tryout on the "Register Here" tab.
Girls season tryouts: Optional open gym Wed. July 24th. Full tryout Saturday July 27th. Age group times TBD.

1st Touches & Development
Do you have a young athlete interested in volleyball? Our 1st Touches or Developmental Team would be just the ticket! These programs are designed to introduce the proper volleyball technique for all new athletes while keeping a fun and focused environment. This will help set them up for success moving into our competitive travel teams as they get older. The season will begin in January and you can find more details at the bottom of this page.

NIVBC is changing our developmental program options to now include athletes as young as 1st grade! Registration for our 1st Touches and Developmental Program can be found below .
1st Touches athletes DO NOT NEED TO TRYOUT. You can simply sign up once registration opens online. Link to register in red:
1st Touches is designed for 1st adn 2nd grade athletes. We will run a clinic series in the fall and mid winter. Athletes can join one clinic or both each year, registrations will post seperately. The Development Team (3rd-6th graders new to the sport, any 6th graders returning to the sport is recommended to tryout for the U12 travel team) depending on sign up numbers will split this group into 2 levels of experience/play.

DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAM OPTIONS:
The 1st Touches and Developmental program is an introduction for beginner volleyball players, that works on developing fundamentals of the game in girls and boys ages 7 to 11 years old. No prior experience needed.
This season will offer two programs, our 1ST TOUCHES and our traditional Developmental Team.
1ST TOUCHES COST (to be announced). This is designed for athletes 1st & 2nd grade to begin their journey in volleyball. NO prior experience needed. This group will practice for 1 hour, 15 minutes once a week for 6 weeks ending with a scrimmage. Beginning in October. All players will receive a NIVBC t-shirt. This will be a fun filled environment with our wonderful Developmental Coach Rainie Conley.

DEVELOPMENTAL TEAM COST (to be announced). This is designed for athletes 3rd to 5th grade (or 6th graders who have no prior experience) working on their volleyball fundamentals. NO prior experience needed. Season length is 6-8 weeks, beginning in October. all players will receive a NIVBC t-shirt. This team will have 2 practices per week, 1.5 hours long and will participate in at least 1 scrimmage with other developmental programs in the area and 1 regional tournament. This program will also be ran by our Developmental Coach Rainie Conley.
Fees for Developmental Team or 1st Touches do not include your regional membership. All membership purchases are done through Sports Engine with Evergreen Region.
You can select "Youth Membership" for 11 and under.
The club does have a fundraising committee that will be working on different types of fundraisers throughout the year, to help reduce the cost of tuition and find sponsors for these programs. If you are interested in helping with this committee please reach out to us ASAP as we are seeking more members.

Once you have registered on Sports Engine we will have all information needed. NIVBC will email all parents mid December with confirmation of practice location/dates/times. We cannot officially announce this until after the LPOSD non-profit gym use meeting when we can reserve our gym use.

Welcome to the North Idaho Volleyball Club (NIVBC). We are proud to be part of the United States Volleyball Association. The USAV has divided the nation into 40 geographic regions. Each region’s goal is to offer the USAV experience. We are part of the Evergreen Region, which is comprised of the geographic area of Eastern Washington (all counties east of the Cascade Mt. range), Northern Idaho, and the state of Montana.

Please be sure to have your player read our updated 2023/2024 Parent-Player Handbook! ALL parents and players are required to sign that they have reviewed this information each team season.

Our player/parent handbook is designed to educate you about our club, our coaching philosophy, and how to be successful within the North Idaho Volleyball Club. It is an accumulation of rules, regulations, policy, and facts at the time of its latest revision. Our NIVBC handbook is intended to be used in conjunction with the Evergreen Region Participants’ Handbook/Operating Code, the USAV Domestic Competition Regulations, and the USAV Guide Book. We hope this handbook will provide you information that will be useful to your decision on whether to play for Sandpoint during the upcoming season.
